They eat flesh, but will abstain from the flesh of those who have a history of helping and being respectful toward the sea and its life. They often pretend to drown in order to attract their prey.

Those that they do not intend to eat are given a bone charm for luck. They are- somewhat shy, however; they are young still, not used to dealing with humans that are not trying to hurt them.
