[ Lavellan sets some seashells down with the other pieces of bone that construct the shrine. She briefly touches the jaw bone that makes up the centerpiece. ]
Outsider? If you have a moment, I would like to speak with you.
[ There is nothing but silence for a moment, then a swirl of magic, all black and blue and purple with little wisps of shadow. As usual, he floats instead of stands, levitating a few inches off the ground. ]
[ For all that this might be an odd sight for anyone else - and would have been for her, had she just arrived for Thedas - Lavellan only smiles in greeting and dips her head slightly. ]
Ah! Ah, yes. I would show you mine, if I could -- though you saw them as pups.
[ They look more messed up now, but that's just how Dishonored wolfhounds look. ]
Breeding them seems like an excellent hobby, does it not? In addition, it has been brought to my attention that they would be useful as guardians or war beasts. The wolfhounds of my world are incredibly smart and very strong; I would like to improve upon the breed, if I can.
It's...interesting, to say the least. I've never taken part in looking for breeders before. It wasn't something my clan took part of, though I've seen people in villages and large cities look for excellent breeders for their dogs, horses, and other animals.
[ Lavellan pauses, looking thoughtful. ]
I have a few ideas. Have you ever heard of direwolves before, Outsider?
[ Lavellan nods, lifting a hand up close to her shoulder. ]
In a sense. Incredibly large once they're adults, I've heard. Like wolves, they are nearly impossible to tame by normal means. And yet the Lady Sansa of the Cothromach had one...as did Lord Robb.
[ The latter of which was Unseelie, once upon a time. She has not heard from him in a year. ]
It may be that breeding them would be impossible. But I imagine it's worth asking. If they could be bred, I should think they would be powerful indeed, fit for an army. Perhaps the bit of wolfhound would allow them to...not be tamed, necessarily, but to be more receptive to their human companions.
I spoke to the Lady Sansa, once. I have not heard of this other, nor did I see the wolf.
Seek out females, first and foremost. I have only the one female wolfhound, for now, and so the male will be the easiest to breed. He is also... more even-tempered, out of the two; perhaps that will assist with the temperament of the direwolves.
[ Makes sense. She nods, a measured and thoughtful gesture. ]
Understood. I'll ask around in Treun and among the refugees in Leathann. Surely there are a few options or someone who would be willing to speak to me.
[ She could always look into the black market, she assumes, if push comes to shove. She has some gold from her business. ]
Would you prefer I buy or simply make a deal that will work for you?

I heard you were looking for help.
[ More specifically... She lifts an eyebrow. ]
Hound breeds?

[ She is quite the interesting case, this Inquisitor. ]
Wolves, yes. Direwolves, no. They are similar, I expect?

Any any other breeds that you come across.
