[ Alice still picks up bones and offerings now and again, she keeps an upkeep of this shrine possibly a bit more than anyone at this particular shrine. It was the first one she made. Instead of asking him for any favors, she's just checking in, treating him like any other friend of her's. She hasn't started her rounds quite yet, but she will.

It was a bad idea to cut her palm, too. The wound from two days ago still hurts. ]

[ He is always happy to speak with Alice; there's barely even a pause when he registers that she is the one at his shrine, arranging the bones and draped fabric. ]

My dear, [ he greets warmly. There is dog fur on his collar and he absently brushes it aside. ]

[ The corner of her lips twitch up, almost into a smile as her eyes land on the dog fur. ]

Well, I see you've been busy.

It seems puppies keep one that way.

They grow by the day.

I shouldn't have left you alone.

[ She kids! More importantly, they're growing and she wouldn't mind an excuse to see them again. ]

Surely that's not the only thing that you've been doing.

I have still been doing quite a bit of reading.

[ And talking to hot fish ladies but since that log is still ongoing... ]

[ Alice thinks they're very pretty! She doesn't say it outright, however, not in front of them. Any time they're around, she marvels at them. Back in the present, Alice frowns. ]

Unfortunately, I don't think it will be safe to stay in Caer Scima. I plan on relocating to the Barrel, for now. After that... I'm not sure. I don't think I'll have a home any more.

Nowhere is ever truly safe.

[ Alas, too bad she couldn't tag along. ]

They'll be storming through here soon; I will not be staying around to see how that unfolds. I was told we have defenses in the tower.

[ Even if Saber was a famous king, she's still skeptical. ]

Outside and up to the battlements. Look to the summit of the eastern mountains. There are ten of them being built.

Ah. [ Black Spires, towers in the distance -- almost like Dunwall tower, he thinks. ]

They certainly make large targets.

[ Now that he mentions it. ]

I would hope that it didn't come to that. I won't be staying to find out, either way.

I have been thinking I might find a boat to store my belongings on. Perhaps I should do that sooner, rather than later.

[ He's not asking a question, not really, but he would like Alice's opinion on the matter. ]

I'm already planning to move my things; I will not leave anything behind. I think it is best to err on the side of caution.

[ He nods. ]

I admit, Caer Scima's walls have become rather dull. Leaving it, no matter the circumstances, shall be... refreshing.

We have to start somewhere, don't we? Truth be told, I am surprised you stayed this long.

Perhaps it was the company.
